Bicycle Advocacy, Individualism And Competing Interests

Sometimes comments I receive on this blog make me think about things in a new way. Take for instance, a comment I received on a post I wrote about seizure-inducing bicycle lights. My conclusion in that post, which was based on information I have read or received from colleagues who do epilepsy research, led me to believe that the effect these lights have on people with medical conditions is minimal.

By this I mean that only a small number of people are actually affected from a medical standpoint. Yet, opponents of the lights would lead us to believe that many people suffer from this problem. Continue reading…
