Is Anyone Actually Thankful?

Every year in late November, Americans go through the ritual of celebrating Thanksgiving. As children, we are taught that the holiday is a time to acknowledge the things we are grateful for.

We are supposed to examine our lives to determine what is best or what we are the luckiest to have. Certain choices fall under the category of stock issues.

People say they are grateful for good health, a wonderful, loving family, a roof over their head and food on the table. This is a safe list. You’ll be regarded as a responsible individual if you utter any of these phrases. But, in reality, we are all going through the motions we were encouraged to follow through the years.   Continue reading ….
