The Border Between Dedicated Bike Lanes And No Man’s Land

There is a sign I pass all the time when I am heading west of the city. This sign has stood in that location for all of recent memory, looking more withered with each passing year, even though the surroundings around it have changed.

At one time, this sign delineated the spot where two towns met. One of the towns was  bicycle friendly, possibly due to a younger, more progressive population, so they installed bike lanes on many major roads long before neighboring towns even considered such installations.   Continue reading ….
