Unexpected Flaws In A Cyclist’s Path Can Cause Disastrous Consequences

I almost missed an interesting article because of its generic title: “Injured cyclist calls for more bike-friendly city.” Surely the guy who wrote this article could not have known much about cycling.

What injured cyclists would not want the city he or she rode in to be more bicycle friendly? If the city had been bicycle friendly, the cyclist might not have been hurt.

I read the article anyway just to see what had happened to the cyclist to elicit this response. The cyclist endured a near fatal accident in May of 2013. He sustained multiple injuries including a broken pelvis, head wounds, and nerve damage in his knee and back.    Continue reading ….
