I guess you have seen the articles in the Boston Globe concerning the recent death of the Japanese cyclist. www.boston.com
Very sad to see the anti-bicyclist rants in the comments section. Totally irrational and often hate-filled. I commute to work evey day and it is frightening to know that theer are these bike-haters out there.

I'm a 300+lbs cyclist, and ride a pretty standard hybrid bike. After 3 years of daily commuting the back wheel failed last week, and my local bike shop are rebuilding it with stronger hub and spokes to account for my weight. I've been told that hand-built wheels are usually stronger than factory built, and so the new wheel will be more resilient.

So, I just googled, "jamis coda femme for man".
I wanted to know if a man could ride the jams femme. I don't know if you are male or female. This is the first link to pop up.
I am assuming, since I am asking this question, it has nothing to do with the powder blue or burgendy red frame color. Those are pretty nice colors, and also easily fixed with spray paint or tape, if you don't like them.
I want to know if the frame can hold me, can handle a heavy weight guy. can take the abuse I would dish out on the poorly kept streets i call home.
I am interested in the geometry of the top tube, that the femme offers and the other model codas' don't.
I have a bad lower back and am interested in a frame I can sit more upright on. I am also interested in a steel frame 700c, hybrid style bike. Those are hard to come by.
I was all hyped on the Marin, Muirwoods, and when I finally got to ride it, I felt like it was a cheap brittle ride. Even though it's a cromoly frame, it didn't have the same smooth ride feel I have with my 853 mountain bike frame.
So, with what knowledge you have, aside from gender politics, is there a physical difference, a structural difference, between the femme, and the other model Codas?
I assume that's what the other person probably was trying to ask, and if not...
I am asking it now.

ems has last years model for $399. That sounds like a good deal to me.
